"To live constantly above snobbery of word or deed; to place scholarship before social obligations and character before appearances; to be in the best sense, democratic rather than “exclusive”, and lovable rather than “popular”; to work earnestly, to speak kindly, to act sincerely, to choose thoughtfully that course which occasion and conscience demand; to be womanly always; to be discouraged never; in a word, to be loyal under any and all circumstances to my Fraternity and her highest teachings and to have her welfare ever at heart that she may be a symphony of high purpose and helpfulness in which there is no discordant note."

ABOUT US
-A WORD FROM OUR PRESIDENT-
"Hey there! I’m Elise Moralez and I have the privilege of serving as the President of the Pi Kappa chapter of Chi Omega at Appalachian State University. The position of president could be seen as daunting, no doubt; but upon being elected to take on the position I had one, simple goal in mind: to return the favor and contribute to the growth and improvement of this chapter just as it has given to me, as an individual, during my time as a member. To list what Chi Omega has allowed me to become, could go on for a lifetime. I am a stronger woman because I’m surrounded by women magnitudes stronger than me; each bringing their own individual stories and being accepted as unapologetically themselves. I am a more confident woman because, 2 years ago, I came into a sisterhood so sure of themselves, so confident in their identity and abilities, that I had no need to question my own and have done nothing but flourished since. To say that it is an honor to lead this group of women, is an understatement. I owe who I have grown to be as a person and leader to the women of Pi Kappa and my only hope is to give them the same experience in return."

PHILANTHROPY
Chi Omega's national philanthropy is the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Each year we hold fall and spring philanthopy events in which 100% of our proceeds go to granting wishes for children with life-threatening medical conditions. It is our goal to raise at least $9,000 a year in order to provide funding to grant a full wish. We do our best every year to welcome a wish kid to ASU and throw them a party to celebrate their wish being granted. Over the past ten years, Pi Kappa has contributed over $130,000 to Make-A-Wish, and we are proud to have had a hand in the granting the wishes of children with terminal illnesses all over America. Locally, we support the Hospitality House, a non-profit crisis agency serving seven counties surrounding the Boone area. In addition, we support number of other organizations in the Watauga County Community.
CHILI WITH CHI O
Since 1984, Hospitality House has been a place to get a hand up, not a handout
The goal is for every adult and child to leave empowered and equipped with the skills that will allow them to transition to self-sufficiency.
